Limited Brands meets participant goal receiving once again the Susan G. Komen team challenge award in Columbus and Rio Rancho  Over 3400 Limited Brands' associates participated in Columbus and Rio Rancho's Susan G. Komen 2005 Race for the Cure. More than 2900 associates and guests in Columbus and more than 400 in Rio Rancho, ran or walked to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer at this year's Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure."
This is the eighth-year Limited Brands partnered with Komen Columbus to support this important cause. As a corporate sponsor of Komen Columbus again this year, Limited Brands met its expectations by increasing its total number of participants by more than 1400 in Columbus and more than 70 in Rio Rancho.
In recognition for having the largest corporate sponsored teams, Susan G. Komen presented Limited Brands with its fifth team challenge award in Columbus and its second in Rio Rancho. Limited Brands' home offices as well as hundreds of associates from more than 3,500 stores have committed to participate in Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure," runs and fitness walks across the country.
"We are extremely happy with our record participation in this year's race both in Columbus and Rio Rancho. Our associates understand the importance of raising awareness to educate people about breast cancer and the importance of funding research so there will one day be a cure.
