Associate Resource Groups Share Time and Talent to Make A Difference This Holiday Season
February 02, 2010
In the spirit of giving back this holiday season nearly 40 Columbus and New York associates from the African-American Resource Network and the Latino Associate Resource Group came together to share their time and talent in their home office communities on Dec. 17, 2009.
Columbus associates had the opportunity to exercise their artistic creativity by decorating tote bags filled with Bath & Body Works product for women entering or graduating from The Maryhaven Women's Center, a substance abuse rehabilitation center. In New York, associates partnered with Coalition for the Homeless to provide feedback and assistance with resume writing and tips on interviewing.
"Community awareness and outreach is one of the key focus areas for both Associate Resource groups so we decided to join efforts on this community project to really make an impact," said Alan Nevel, director of Diversity and Inclusion at Limited Brands.
In addition to these community projects, Limited Brands also made a $3,000 donation to the Latino Empowerment Outreach Network (LEON) for their sixth annual Have A Big Heart food and coat drive.
As a reflection of Limited Brands values and commitment to support its associates and foster an inclusive work environment, both the African American and Latino Associate Resource Groups launched in 2009. Plans to launch a third, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Resource Group, is scheduled for 2010. Click here to learn more about the Associate Resource Groups.
